This is just a quick post to notify anyone interested that my blogging (and commenting) presence will be limited for a short period. Being a man of a certain age, and not having the best ergonomics at my home work station (something I've been meaning to "get 'round to" improving), I'm dealing with a rather nasty bit of carpal tunnel. This has happened in the past, and I've found that the only solution is to strictly limit my keyboarding and mousing to priority emails and the occasional online purchase. (Fortunately, I'm no longer working, so am not forced to do the hours per day of keyboarding that came with that).
In short, I basically have to go "cold turkey" at the keyboard to prevent getting sucked in and aggravating the condition further. I'll be saving up content in the meantime for when I'm back in the swing of things.
Well, as long as you can still press ‘Buy’ you may make it through! Wishing you a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon matey!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about this. Please take care and we look forward to your return.
ReplyDeleteTake it easy old chap…
ReplyDeleteAs Jonathan says… As long as you can reach the buy button you should survive 😁
Of course gardening will be completely out of the question…
All the best. Aly
Sorry to read this Ed - I have known a few people have carpal tunnel and it sounds a rather nasty condition - you can have surgery to fix it permanently, can't you?
ReplyDeletePretty sure one of our group had it for a while and it completely curtailed any figure painting (although he was still working so perhaps, he had to persevere with the keyboard and give up painting instead...?)
Hope it improves soon Ed, a nasty thing to get, my step daughter suffered from it, not nice at all, here's for a speedy recovery and a bit of retail therapy may be the cure!
ReplyDeleteAll the best, not a nice condition to have. Wishing you a quick recovery.
ReplyDeleteAs others have noted, a painful condition, we wish you a speedy recovery. Enforced non activity is galling. Consider the use of the microphone to make notes and then when returning to your typing when you are recovered. Meanwhile you can relax and enjoy others blogs that use your chocolate box efforts.
ReplyDeleteThis note will have to do for a reply to all given the circumstances: appreciate the support.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of your travails Ed and fingers crossed you can get back to normal life once you've rested your wrist.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Adding my best wishes to you Ed. Hopefully you can continue to manage it with rest and changes in type (pun not intended) of use of your muscles & tendons. Perhaps improvements to your computer set-up should be the first target for the retail therapy suggested by others?! :)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, James
Best of luck getting it back under control!
ReplyDeleteDang. Get better soon.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what it is. it sucks.
